Successful trade mission in Albania
As part of the recent State Visit to Albania, TradeMalta organised a business forum/business to business meetings in Tirana.
This was carried out in collaboration with the Albanian Investment Development Agency and took the form of a business forum addressed by both H.E Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta and H.E Bujar Nishani, President of the Republic of Albania.
The business delegation comprised of 17 businesses which were keen to enter forms of business collaboration with their Albanian counterparts. The sectors represented including construction; roads/infrastructure; restoration; fish farming; training/education; retail and consultancy.
Also present were officials from the Malta Tourism Authority and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry that showed a clearer picture of the business and tourism potential that exits between both countries.
The company representatives from the latter sectors were interested in exploring the trade potential that exists with Albania, and welcomed all forms of collaboration. From initial indications the Maltese businesses were very well received and there already exist a number of highly potential collaborations in the various sectors represented.
Further as proposed by H.E Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca this form of collaboration should also take the form of a Joint Albanian Maltese Business Council, that will further explore both markets and serve as a means of continuous contact aimed at enhancing bilateral trade relations between Malta and Albania.
This trade mission to Albania coordinated by TradeMalta formed part of a host of trade events aimed at assisting locally based businesses in their internationalisation drive.
